Welcome
At St Wilfrid's every individual is valued and supported. We aim to make everyone feel they are a part of a community which works together and cares for each other. At the heart of our life is a desire to encourage students to lead a Christian life and be of service to others. We aim to get the best out of every individual academically, to help them achieve their highest standards.

School Uniform

We insist that every child wears school uniform and we hope that your child will be proud of the uniform. The list of items that you will need has been carefully drawn up to maintain the standards of school uniform which we have set, without being unecessarily expensive for parents. Any parent who has difficulty providing the uniform should let the Form Tutor know so that we can see if we can arrange some help. If you have an item of school uniform in reasonable condition which you no longer require you may, if you wish, send it to school and we will organise its redistribution.
Uniform is only one part of our concern for your child's general appearance which includes shoes, hair and personal cleanliness.

Planner
A Planner is supplied to every child to help them with their day to day planning and organisation. It is their personal property and as such is carried at all times in their pocket or bag.

Mission Statement
St Wilfrid’s Catholic High School, Sixth Form and Language College, with its distinctive Catholic identity, seeks to ensure the development of all students’ spiritual, moral and academic potential, based on its commitment to Christ and His teachings.

As a community, the school is committed to the common good, which is achieved through the fostering of a co-operative and caring ethos, both with St Wilfrid’s, parishes, family and the wider community.

Such an approach is based on the Christian principle of personal dignity and worth where each person’s rights and responsibilities are recognised and respected, and their individual talents nurtured.

These talents include the search for academic excellence within a secure learning environment, where the needs and potential of all pupils are addressed and where achievement, both individual and collective, is celebrated.
