GNER, Virgin and Midland Mainline trains call at Wakefield Westgate station.A taxi journey takes about 20 minutes.
From Leeds—trains call at Castleford station. Castleford bus station is adjacentto the railway station. Bus numbers 177, 178 and 179 run approximately every20 minutes and stop outside the school (journey time approximately 15 minutes).
By Road
From North/South (A1) Leave the A1 at the junction with the M62. Take the westbound lane of the M62. Leave at exit 32 taking the road to Castleford. Bear left to Glasshoughton Freeport and “Xscape”. Follow A639 to Leeds through Glasshoughton Freeport. Follow road to junction with traffic lights, where you turn left. Bear left at 1st mini roundabout. Go straight on under M62 bridge at the next roundabout then take the first exit after going under the M62 bridge. Follow this road to top of the hill past the cemetery. St Wilfrid’s is on the right. There is a car park for visitors.
From North/South (M1) Leave M1 at exit 42, the junction with the M62. Follow M62 (West) sign posted to Hull and follow instructions as below. From East/West (M62) Leave M62 at exit 32 taking the road to Castleford. Bear left to Glasshoughton Freeport and “Xscape”. Follow A639 to Leeds through Glasshoughton Freeport. Follow road to junction with traffic lights, where you turn left. Bear left at 1st mini roundabout. Go straight on under M62 bridge at the next roundabout then take the first exit after going under the M62 bridge. Follow this road to top of the hill past the cemetery. St Wilfrid’s is on the right. There is a car park for visitors.
From Wakefield Take the Pontefract-Doncaster Road A645 out of Wakefield and follow the Pontefract signs to the second set of traffic lights at Featherstone crossroads. Turn left onto B6421, follow the road for 2 miles through Featherstone to North Featherstone traffic lights. From here go straight on and the school is approx 300m on the left hand side of the road.
After school Study Buses run on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from the second week of term onwards. These two buses are for students staying behind after school for extended study or sports etc...
Bus 1: Leaves school at 4:30pm Pontefract Bus Station - Ackworth - Hemsworth - Minsthorpe and Sth Elmsall
Bus 2: Leaves school at 4:45pm Castleford Bus Station - Whitwood - Altofts - Normanton - Snydale and Featherstone
